My community which is one of the five boroughs of New York City is located in the borough of the Bronx. I live in the South Bronx. I live near three neighborhoods they are Mott Haven, Port Morris, and Melrose. I specifically live in East 138 street and 3 avenue which is located in the area of Mott Haven. In the area there are two rivers the East River and the Harlem River. At first I thought there was no history in the area that I live in but a factory was located in this area known as C. Rieger’s Sons Factory was listed on the 2004 National Register of Historic Places. The National Register is the Nations official list which list the places that are worthy of preservation. Industrial growth had continued in the 1990 and East 138 Street had become the main commercial and industrial district which many people live in.
